Disney Channel to air `The Jungle Book` Movie on April 21 at 11 am

One of Disney�s most popular family movies ever �The Jungle Book�, loved the world over for its memorable music (who says bears can�t sing!), thrilling adventures and unforgettable characters comes to Disney Channel onApril 21, 2012 at 11 am.

Little Mowgli, a boy raised by wolves in the Indian jungle is happy just enjoying the �Bare Necessities�with his buddies, especially happy-go-lucky bear Baloo. However, the vicious tiger, Shere Khan decides that the �man-cub� must be eliminated because of the threat he will pose to tigers once he grows into a man. So the wise panther Bagheera sets out to return him to the �man village�, where he will be safe.

The exciting journey through the jungle holds many dangers and surprises. After falling out of the coils of a hungry hypnotic python named Kaa and falling in with a herd of military elephants, the �man-cub� meets the carefree bear named Baloo who teaches Mowgli the song �The Bare Necessities� of life and the true meaning of friendship. Other musical highlights include, �I Wan'na Be Like You (The Monkey Song)�, by Jazzy King Louie and the hepcat monkeys, the sneaky �Trust in Me� by Kaa and �That�s What Friends are For��

Astute Media Vision develops Bal Hanuman 4: Attack of the Universe

After Bal Hanuman- Return of the Demon, Astute Media Vision has developed the 4th part in the Bal Hanuman feature franchise- Bal Hanuman 4: Attack of the Universe. The studio team of 30 artists took around 9 months to complete this theatrical feature which is expected to release next month. The film is approximately 72 minutes long and is targeted at 4-16 yrs age group.

Talking to AnimationXpress.com Pankaj Sharma, Director of Bal Hanuman 4 & Owner of Astute Media Vision shares, �Film is full of fun, conspiracy, action, sporty moments and of course with a strong message from Bal Hanuman. It is related to the previous feature but can be understood independently on its own. The Kabaddi match between monkeys and crocodiles is the high point of this film.�

In Bal Hanuman 4, Monkey Head Chhote Maharaj convinces his Lieutenants Rocket and Locket to play a Kabbadi match with crocodiles headed by Gutter and Shutter in order to end hostility and make peace in the area. But certainly something dangerously weird is cooking in the crocodile�s group as they are conspiring to make Dreaded Danavraj alive with the help of their new allies, the Aliens, who attacks the Earth in order to destroy plantation and kill the animals to convert them into fuel to fulfill the energy demand of their planet. Bal Hanuman comes to the rescue. Will Bal Hanuman be able to unite Monkeys and Crocodiles to save earth from the attack of aliens and Hi-Tech Danavraj with New Powers?

Pankaj is in talks with various distributors for the film. �The first two releases of Bal Ganesha was done by PVR, Chuttanki was done by Mukta ArtDelhi and this one is in Mumbai so we are not sure, as it is very difficult to release an animation film in India�.

About the challenges faced, Pankaj asserts, �Bal Hanuman 4 is the fourth part so when people like the first part, second is made, when they like the second, third is made and so on. The challenging part is to maintain the transition, and also to keep the entity of the story intact when you are making a mythological kind of a film. Also, the kind of concept which I design and wrote was a challenging task�.

Bal Hanuman 4 is developed as normal 2D film unlike its predecessor which was a stereoscopic 3D. Astute Media Vision�s next project will be stereoscopic 3D animated film. The studio has already finished the pre-production part of the film and is also using few 'different and new techniques for the film.

Astute with many IPs to its credit is now looking for collaboration and outsourcing project as well. Apart from this Astute is also planning to start a training centre where passed out students can get the hands-on experience by working on Astute�s professional projects.

�First we have thought of establishing a school but now we have decided to create a training centre. It will be paid internship kind of thing. That is the thing we are planning to start, as there are already many institutes for teaching courses. Students can work on our films and projects. We will take 2-3 months to establish it but we will do it soon as it will help our production line as well�, Pankaj concludes.

Iris Animation developing its 1st feature film, Robotz � Chandu aur Sheru

Pune based Iris Animation is developing its first full length feature film, Robotz � Chandu aur Sheru. The film is made in 3D Animation, using 3DS Max software. Iris Animation owns the IP of the film and the story is written by the Founder of Iris Animation, Virupaxi V Chougala. The film is 15% ready including the story, story boarding, character modelling, set modelling and one song. Music is composed by Aniruddha Sharma.

The film is about Two Robotz - Chandu & Sheru. Both made by Prof. Prasad who considers them as his children. Chandu becomes famous for his naughtiness and intelligence, and soon comes in the eyes of negative elements who want to have him for their own selfish purpose. But Sheru, strong and tall made for protecting Chandu, foils their kidnap attempt and rescues Chandu.

Talking to AnimationXpress.com Virupaxi V Chougala, Founder, Iris Animation shares, �Till now we have worked on Architectural Visualization & Walkthroughs and Corporate Presentations, Robotz - Chandu aur Sheru would be our first full length feature film. The film has a cartoon look with fun loving characters which whole family will love watching again. Before this we have worked on a short film, �Tum Tum Lali" to test our film making skills. Its video is uploaded on our website�.

The film is slated to release this September all over India. Virupaxi is looking for overseas market as well. The studio is planning to make the film in Hindi and South Indian languages and any other language also if possible. 5 people are working on the film which is targeted at children and also the family. The film will be released under the banner of "Indus Valley Entertainment".

About the challenges faced Virupaxi says, �The whole film is of course a challenge. The fight and song sequences were challenging. We took references from the Hollywood and Bollywood which were of great help. Iris Animation is responsible for the story, character designing, story board visuals, character modelling, animation and Post production�.

Iris Animation formed in January 2004 and based in Pune, India is involved in 3D modeling and animation. The services offered by Iris Animation are 3D Modeling & animation, Architectural Visualization & Walkthroughs, Corporate Presentations, Films & Serials, and Physical Model Making.

The studio is focused on this project and only after completion of this work will take up other project.

For Battlefield 3, DICE took on its most difficult challenge so far. To raise the bar for character quality in games we developed our own deformation rig, combined it with the powerful ANT animation system (used in FIFA) and extensive motion capture usage. To create a believable experience we built and managed enormous amount of assets and ways of keeping these organized. The rigging process was one of the most challenging aspects of production, with the smallest change requiring an update for almost every single asset. With a modular rigging system and a flexible animation pipeline the production team could deliver on time and quality.

'Chhota Bheem: Dholakpur to Kathmandu' movie premieres on POGO

Chhota Bheem has once again emerged as Kid�s Favourite TV Character (Ormax Media 2011). To add to these celebrations, POGO is also launching a new movie based on this larger-than-life series called Chhota Bheem: Dholakpur to Kathmandu. The movie will premiere on POGO, India�s No. 1 Kids� and Family channel, on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 12pm.

Full of adventure and humour, this movie is about Chhota Bheem�s latest rescue mission in the snow-clad mountains of Nepal, battling vicious creatures to save the day yet again! Migo, a yeti cub is kidnapped by the evil Snow Leopard Clan to be sacrificed to their Goddess. If Migo isn�t returned to his yeti father, the yeti will soon descend on Kathmandu and destroy all in its wrath. It is now upto our Dholakpur superhero � Chhota Bheem and friends to travel to Katmandu and battle treacherous terrains and the Snow Leopard Clan to save Migo and return him in time to the Yeti else all of Nepal is doomed.

The ranking for the most popular kid�s characters is derived from the bi-annual syndicated research called Small Wonders. This research is conducted amongst children of the age 6-14 years, across eight cities in India.
